  • a good one

I know many of you think my job must really suck because of all the bad calls I get. but I figure that is what this site is all about. I promise I am not a negative person. The sucky ones just give me something to laugh at. But I do on occassion get good people. For instance, we have one property owner from Switzerland that comes and stays in her condo for two weeks each summer. She speaks broken English but I always understand her ok and I love her accent...."Dave, this is Heidi (not her real name) from Switzerland and how do you do?" AND they bring us the best chocolates when they come. They rarely complain about anything but if they do, I take it very seriously. 9:30 at night one night , the light bulb in her bathroom went out and I rushed down and changed it for her. She tipped me $20 but heck, I was happy to do it even without the tip. Would I have done that if she was rude and obnoxious like some of the sc's I have been telling you about? Not a chance. They would wait until tommorow or bring their ass up and get the light bulb and change it themselves.

*MOD EDIT - Moved to the appropriate "Praising Customers" forum since a post about good customers doesn't really belong in "Sucky Customers."

I think you get bad apples in all jobs...

I worked for Medicaid for 7 1/2 years. Lots of bad ones, but some people who just made my day because they were so nice or grateful for help. Unfortunately, it's usually the bad ones that you remember and have to vent out.

*hugs* But I'm glad that not everyone you have to deal with is a psycho-beeyotch-from-hell!

Swiss chocolate... mmmm... that's enough to buy my loyalty right there.

Add in the nice tipping and the fact that they're great tenants/owners(?) and they sound like the kind of customer you wish you could clone.

It's good to finally hear of a good customer of yours.

It just goes to show, if you're nice to the employees, treat them like fellow human beings, they'll go the extra mile for you. If you're mean and belittling, you get the bare minimum and no more. If only more customers could be made to understand that.

It's the Golden Rule, folks, and it's a good thing.

          Yep, me too!
I don't have an attitude problem. You have a perception problem.
