There is one woman I work with most evenings. She's always on top of things, the customers love her, she lives in the neighbourhood, so they all know her anyway, and she's just an all-around great person to have working with me.
She topped herself last night.
I was really feeling off, for various reasons, not the least of which is my thread in MiM. I was totally blindsided by our GM leaving, and the whole day was a total emotional train wreck. I spent it just trying to get through the day.
My co-worker, J, bought me this delicious sweet potato spicy stew/soup thing from a local restaurant. Just that little thing picked me up and made my day.
She said she did it because it was the first time she'd seen me smile all day.
I need to make her cookies.
