It was the end of a very tough day, but this was the one bright spot in it. A woman came in with a son and a daughter, and ended up buying a ton of clothing. Now one of the things that bothers me the most is when people refuse to take the hangers off their clothes, making the transactions last twice as long as necessary. I was in the middle of ringing these people out (about 5 shirts into it) and the daughter pipes up "Can I help you?" I said "Of course!" She looks at her mom who motions to take off the hangers and hand them to me. She does so, and in doing so saved me quite a bit of time. Even though it didn't make a big difference in the grand scheme of things, every little bit does help. Her parents should be proud they raised such a helpful kid. She made my day.
Note: the parents were not SC's in this case. Nothing noteworthy about them in this story. It's all about the kid.
