A couple days ago I was at my job as a grocery store cashier, and a mom and her little boy came in. The boy was about three or so years old, and was sitting in the seat of a shopping cart.
I scanned their groceries, including a box of frozen fruit pops, which the boy wanted to hold. Apparently, the fruit pops were a special treat for him. Off-handedly, i mentioned that the fruit pops looked good.
And continued my scanning of groceries. A few seconds later, I heard the little boy say, "Here you go" and hold out the box of fruit pops.
I have to admit, I was so incredibly happy as I said, "Oh, thanks, but I can't accept that". After having so many children scream bloody murder when I try to just scan an item that they're holding, the fact that this very little boy was mature and thoughtful enough to offer somebody his treat was really heartwarming.

*feels warm and fuzzy inside*

I told the cashier it really was okay and she just laughed and thanked us.
