So I'm away from home for 3 weeks due to work, and staying at the hotel I normally do (about 5 mins walk from the Coastal Office). Today is the beginning of my second week here, so obviously I'm a little homesick.
I get into the hotel today, and the doorman asks how my day was. It was a crappy day (we went live on a new support contract and everything that could go wrong DID), and I told him it was a crappy day, but not in a bitchy way, in a "thanks for asking!" way. He asked my room number, and I gave it to him, and he promised me a massage
Lo and behold, about an hour later, there's a knock on my door. I open it, and there's two people, one holding a tray and the other an ice bucket.
Me: "But...I didn't order supper yet....
"
Lovely Lady: "No, you didn't, but we brought this for you! I heard you talking to the doorman, and I thought this might cheer you up."
These fantastic people brought up a gorgeous fruit tray and a bottle of wine for me - on the house! I couldn't believe it!
Guess what the first thing I did was....
Went down to the GM's office and left a note saying how fantastic Andile and Harrison were. There's many reasons why I like this hotel, and this service just underlined it. And I'm going to make a point of telling as many people as possible how fantastic this hotel is as well.
