  • Parenting in action

While waiting in line tonight to pick up some McDonald's:

    SD: Super dad
    D: Daughter, approx 7-8 I'd guess.
    C: Cashier.

    D: <mumbles an order, I couldn't hear it she talked so soft.>
C: That will be $X.XX please.

D pulls out a crumpled, mangled wad of bills and proffers them to the cashier, who then begins to take them one by one and straighten them out.

SD: <to daughter> Hey. You need to straighten those out before you give them to her, it's only polite.

D then takes the remaining bills and flattens them out as best she can before handing them to the cashier.

    C: Thanks sweetie.

Refreshing to see good parenting and manners being imparted.

Ha. I read that a few times wondering where the suck was...
...then I realized your thread title was meant in a non-ironic way

Yes, good parenting is always refreshing to see.

I know. I thought the thread title was sarcastic at first and I was looking for the part where the wheels start to fall off.

          No.

The place is called "customers suck". The stories are meant to be sucktitude. We expect it not so much because we're hardened cynics, as because that's what the forum's for.

We're not cynics, we're realists and it's a sad, sad world.

I simply wanted to share something that was good, and it wasn't my customer, or anyone serving me, so I didn't know where else to put it. I thought considering all the stories of suck, a more positive story might be appreciated. Next time I just won't bother.

Well, there's always the praising section.
