or at least my local one does.

I walk in and the owner says "Mr. Hat! I know you usually like this kind of thing, so I set one aside for you" and hands me the book I came in to ask about. So I bought two other books as well.

It's Pulp Fiction comics with is downstairs under a now-closed travel agent on King William Street. Near Rundle Mall, just look for the orange sign. They're also big supporters of things like AVCon and local artist gatherings and publications.

I went there today and had a look around. Very small, but they had a fairly extensive range of manga, albeit a little bit more expensive than Shin Tokyo. Lol, now I'm gonna go there every Wednesday and wait for you (I'm kidding, apologies to anyone who's been stalked)

Comic book shop owners are some of the most interesting people I know. They're one of the few people on Earth that you can have a real down-to-earth discussion about the comic book industry and such.

We have a few shops on Church Street and you can find some cool stuff there.

Well given that I was meant to be at uni, I didn't stay around for too long. The guy greeted me and left me to my own devices. I wound up picking up a Claymore manga and got it a little bit discounted too (it was about 15.90, I got it for 14.50). I kept hemming and hawing between Claymore and Negima too

                That's OK, I'm going on Thursdays. :P

Did you see the sign saying if you buy 3 you get 10% off? Sometimes when he's feeling generous the owner applies that to things from the clearance table too.

I was in there once with a friend, I keep meaning to go back but never find myself in town.

I usually end up chatting with whomever is running the register when I go to my comic shop (every other week usually). My typical complaint is that I spend my alcohol budget on comic. XD I never leave without buying something.

I really prefer independent comic shops to bookstores for comics. Except manga. Bookstores usually have a wider selection of manga.

But for independent publishers, webcomic prints, and DC, it's Oasis all the way.

I really miss the other store I went to when I was at college. It was practically across the street.

I miss mine, it was only a short walk from my house. It went online only in March. Not that I'm an anime/manga fan, but boyfriend is so it was nice to be able to walk in and find something he liked. And now it's shut.
