Yesterday, a customer came up to the service desk to get checked out since she'd been waiting in line for a while and she wasn't happy about it. She mentioned that she worked all day and she wanted to get home. She even mentioned that we need to hire more people and that lots of people were out of jobs. The grocery store I work at is still on a hiring freeze and my dad is one of the people out of work.
One of the checkers mentioned something about having to put a check through. Another customer checking out at another register got into an argument with the customer checking out at the service desk.
The customer checking out at the service desk mentioned that she was going to call the company and let them know that she was pleased with me since I do what I can to get customers checked out quickly. I wrote the corporate number on her receipt which I had to confirm with my service desk coworker since I couldn't remember all of it and I couldn't find it in the directory.
