As I posted last Friday, my Dad passed away suddenly last Thursday. I had called by supervisor to let her know that the funeral would be today and that I would not return to work until at least tomorrow. This morning I left her a voice mail letter her know that, if possible, I would like to delay my return to work until Thursday. When I returned home after the funeral, she had left a voice mail telling me that was fine, and I could wait until Friday if I wish. I called her back to thank her and let her know that I would wait until Friday. That was when she told me that our boss had changed her mind and felt like I should wait until Monday. They were afraid that I was trying to return too soon. I knew it would be difficult, but they had been so nice that I didn't want to take advantage of them. I never would have had this type of concern at the Call Center from Hell - I probably would have been expected to simply leave early on Monday for the visitation and take today off for the funeral. And then I would have been expected to be right back on the phone being abused by sucky customers all day. I work for wonderful people now.
