I was working a 2-10 shift in my gas station where there are only four of us, two behind the counter, two in the Deli, all girls and some lady comes in and this is how it goes down:
AC: Awesome customer, sweetest lady
Me: Headache!
CW: My favorite actually
AC: Ladies, I want to speak to a manager.
CW: *thinks it's a bad thing* Actually we don't have our manager here on second shifts and especially not on weekends.
AC: Well, I just wanted to let you guys know that there is a man out on your sidewalk who looks to be really drunk and I'm afraid for you girls, you look so young. You should probably call the police.
Me: Thank you very much!
CW: We'll call our manager first, okay?
AC: Yes, okay, I want to stay here with you two to make sure he goes away, is that okay?
Me: That would be perfectly fine, ma'am, thank you very much.
It amazed me. I was like
She was crazy nice and so was her husband. We never did get the guy into custody, he came in, bought cigarettes and then walked off into the woods! Eek! What a scary thought. And this is like, at 9 at night and he's off lurking in the woods! Needless to say we walked to our cars together.
