  • Pizza, customer service, and accidents

So I was let off work early and was on my way home, when I decided to drop by a local bulk store for some of the delicious pizza they sell. I go in, order it, they tell me it's gonna be 15-20 minutes. Not a problem, I decide, and I wait.

Twenty minutes later, turns out they've lost the order. Whoops. I have nowhere I need to be, so I don't really mind waiting and try to be as polite as I can since I know they're badly rushed. Twenty minutes later, I get my order, and a free drink for the wait (Thanks guys!).

Then I head out and go on my way home, and it turns out there's this GIGANTIC car accident, where apparently a car jumped the meridian and CRUSHED another car. Judging by the police response, if the pizza hadn't been late, I could've been there instead of waiting for my pizza.

So, thanks Awesome People at the bulk store for trying to make amends for the lateness (Without me asking even!) and inadvertently potentially saving my life.

And had you been a SC who was "In a hurry" as they all say, look where you may have ended up.
To right the countless wrongs of our days... We shine this light of true redemption, that this place may become as paradise...Oh, what a wonderful world such would be...

Flygon_Trainer, The "fate" aspect of your story reminded me of an incident from around 22 years ago, now.

I worked for a parking company, at a location in the downtown area of my city. There had been an incident of a car losing control, in an above ground parking structure (not run at the time by the company I worked for, though they'd later operate it) the car broke through a retaining wall along the outer perimeter of the garage, and crashed down on top of a car, waiting in a line of traffic, in the street. I believe the diver of the out of control car was killed, as may have been a passneger in his car. The driver of the car it landed on was

The eerie part for me, was the picture in the newspaper very clearly showed the license plate number of the car, which I recognized as being on of my Monthly Parkers, at my garage, a few blocks away. I knew right away who it was, even before reading the story. (Don't remember if he was even named in it).

The story quoted another guy, who had been trying to exit the garage, that said if my customer had been courteous, and allowed him to pull out into the traffic lane as he approched the stopped traffic that was waiting for the light, he would have been the one killed, and my customer would have survived.
