Gotta say although I think this apparent policy will get abused by SC's, I gotta say Kudo's to the local JB Hi-Fi I was in today.
I have been looking for a 1TB external hardrive to store all those funny video's I get at work (instead of working) and for backups, and had checked prices around town. The local DSE had one for 189.00, then I randomly decided to ring JBHF. After being transferred then re-trasferred (hey, phones suck, I use them for a job too) the "IT" sales rep said they had one for 180.00.
I went down today (payday!) to get it, and on noe's, I cant find it! $Salesrep2 comes over, i tell him about phoning in, he double checks and says they don't have any at that price (Not out of stock, they just don't sell it) - So he gets a 225.00 one, hands it to me and says "I can give you that one for 198.00 to apologise for the miscommunication" and prints out a voucher page for the registers saying so.
I was happy to pay the full price (like i said, payday! lol) but he sorted it out before I could fully process what was happening.
My only worry is SC's catching wind of this, and fabricating stories to get discounts.
