Yeah I know, by the title you'd think this was about a sucky customer. But it's not! Or, at least it partially isn't. An SC was involved, but Pissed Off Lady Buying a Phone shut her up.
About a year ago, my husband had no staff. It was just him in a store that should have had about 5 other people in it. Late one afternoon, I went up to see what he wanted for dinner, and there were about 20 people in the store, all waiting in line.
At the head of the line was a lady and her daughter trying to buy and activate a phone. On a good day that takes a long time, but that day the internet was being spotty. Now, I'm not sure if this is true of everywhere, but at StereoHut (at least in this district), setting up a cell phone will time out after a while, and all information is lost. So, you have to work at it constantly and not wait too long to enter in customer info.
Anyway, I don't know how long these people had been there, but this older lady in line started really bitching about how terrible it is that she has to wait in line (at all, she seemed to be implying), because she had to get home to make dinner for her husband, and how rude is that one associate for only helping one person at a time, and how awful that this lady wants to buy a phone, doesn't she know SC has THINGS to DO?!
So the Pissed Off Lady Buying a Phone turns to the bitchy old lady and reads her the riot act!
"OMG, I'm SO SORRY I had to inconvenience you for 10 minutes while I buy a phone. Holy lord, I'm going to hell for this! Baby Jesus would WEEP to know what I've done! How DARE I get to the store faster that you did! I mean, I should be flogged for not magically crapping out another associate for you! Because it's totally this manager's fault that he's DOING HIS JOB and helping me!" [/paraphrase]
It was all I could do not to pee myself laughing at the look on the SC's face.
And OMG, it gets better! After taking Mr. Skeen's order for dinner, I went across the street to the Wal-Mart to get something for him, and lo and behold the Pissed Off Lady Buying a Phone is there! She marches straight up to me to bitch about how rude the old lady was, and I thanked her for standing up for Mr. Skeen. She hugged me. It was awesome.
Thank you, Pissed Off Lady Buying a Phone. ::hugs::
