Alright so in general there's 2 types of old people.
the nice kind friendly ones who well... are nice kind and friendly.
AND. the miserable old ones who's sole purpose in life is to make YOU as miserable as THEY are.
This (for ONCE in my life) is a story about the former.
I was doing my college placement for my course in my final year of college (basically work for free. 40+ hours a week in the hospital that not only do i not get paid for, BUT i pay the college a years worth of tuition for. yay! isn't the gov't fun?).
anyways. so I'm perpetually broke. I go to the cafeteria to buy lunch as a little treat for myself.
their debit/credit machine is down and they're only taking cash. Now... problem with this is that I have NO cash on me, and I don't even have a full $20 in my bank account to take OUT. (i had like.. $12 in there or something).
Also I've already ordered my food, and it's on the tray in front of me all ready and good to go i just have to pay.
SO they tell me debit/credit is out (hospital suck is that they had NO signs anywhere you'd be told once you got to the cash ready to pay kinda crappy). and i tell the girl 'well.. i can't pay then I dont have any cash and I can't pull any out'
elderly lady behind me steps up and asks how much it was (was about $6 for a soup and sandwhich) and tells me 'it's ok just add it onto my meal'
I could've hugged her, as, at that point i was eating about twice a day. lunch and dinner, i couldn't afford anything else.
so it was awesome.
