I got a job with my college's bookstore just before what we call "Rush". The weeks leading up to the beginning of the semester, and the first two weeks of the semester.
I would like to thank about 99.9% of students for being perfectly understanding of how busy it is, and for saying "thank you" after one of us retrieved your books for you.
Thank you for keeping the line orderly while you waited for one of the 8 registers to open (during non-rush periods, we have 2 registers).
Thank you for being understanding when we ask for a photo ID when your signature line is scratched to hell and back on your CC. And thank you for having it ready when you used a check, too.
Thank you for understanding when no one is at a register, but they aren't open because they're waiting to get a void authorized because the person before them didn't quite have enough financial aid for their books.
