  • Doggy Poo Poo

One day I was at work and we had this woman walk in. She didn't have an appointment and we've never seen her pet or her before. She demanded to be seen so I checked with a doctor and they said they could see her pet but she would be waiting because they were in with actual appointments.

    Me:
    SC: Sucky Customer
    AC: Awesome client

Me: Ma'am the doctor said he can see your pet but there is going to be a wait.
SC: What? Well...how long do I have to wait for?
Me: All of our doctor's are with their appointments right now and will see you when they are able to.
SC: So you don't know how long I will be waiting.
    Me: No.
    SC: *sigh*
Me: Go ahead and take a seat and we'll have you in a room when we can.

SC basically ignores me and continues to hover over my area of the desk. Well AC (who happens to be a very nice client) had come in right after SC did to pick up something for his pets. During this SC's dog decided to use the bathroom on the floor but SC decided not to actually tell me. I only saw her jump back and heard her say her dog's name. So it's quiet for a minute, then...

AC: *to SC* Ma'am! That is something that your dog needs to be doing outside.
    SC: Oh..well...
AC: Go take your dog outside and make him use the bathroom. You are being incredibly rude by allowing him to use the bathroom in here and not even saying anything to the employees here.

At this point AC is heading over towards the door to take her dog outside, stuttering on the way of course while AC continues to scold her for being inconsiderate. After the woman is outside he turns to him shaking his head and tells me that he can't believe how rude people are. I've never seen him get so upset with anyone before. He's always been a bit soft spoken actually. We still saw SC of course. A tech had to go outside and get her while she walked her dog out in a nearby field.

Anyways, I told my fellow receptionists and office manager what happened. So we took an old name tag and made one for him for fun. I can't remember what job title we put on it but it involved making SCs behave. He liked it.

How nice. About what he did, not about that woman and her mangy mutt. Though I suppose it's probably that the woman's brain is simply out of gas? Or is the more appropriate statement running on fumes?
Customers should always be served . . . to the nearest great white.

The woman has been in once since then. She's not all there. When you try to explain something to her all you get is a completely blank look. Especially when you are trying to explain to her why she was being charged for something. So I think gas is right.
