For those keeping track, I'm now on the Bastardmobile Mk II (aka The Clitoris - since I can never find it in a car park). Got a service on Wednesday, and Saturday night it started sounding really grumbly and lost its power etc. Nursed it home etc.
Come Monday, I fell in the door of the dealership where it had been serviced when they opened and they got to work while I got to work. Turned out it was nothing to do with the service or any parts that should have been tested. Simple fix, which they did for me. Sterling service at short notice.
Of note is that I took them a box of chocolates to say thanks for the prompt service. They cost me (with discount) about £7 - for the gesture, they knocked off nearly £12!
