Quarters= fun time getting gas

There is a 'rathon station in my small town that has just recently been bought my new owners. The owner is a late 30's early 40's guy that is cool as hell. I went in the other night, bought 10.26 in gas and a pack of cigarettes. This came to be about 15.33. I then warn him that all I have is quarters. Now, I've been in a situation where a large sum is paid in change and I know how annoying it can be, so I felt really bad about it. The guy was all smiles and jokes, even making a game out of counting it (note: this was near closing, around midnight and no one else was in the store, so no one was waiting in line thankfully.) One cashier even shared that she had paid for $20 worth of groceries with change once. It really made feel less sucky, since they were completely fine it.

I really don't mind when people pay in all quarters because they easy enough to count. Especially if they are familiar with change etiquette and had them over dollar at a time (even better is on a day the manager forgot to get quarters for the weekend). instead of counting out in front of me and then tossing it down where I have to recount it because how many people either miss count or suck and are trying to scam.

Now to the dick who threw down 4.05 that was mostly pennies,
D:"I want this on number 7" <- said while throwing down bag of change
me: thinks OH great mostly pennies, so i start slowly counting because I wasn't busy and was in no hurry.
D comes back in
d: "What is taking you so long?"
me: "Well considering I have never heard of this as a number I'm counting the change in front of me to know"
me realizes I just "lost" count precedes to start over as D is now waiting in my line like a good boy.
