self sighting, but a good one

went into college today cos I have an appointment with my advisor. I parked in a lot I normally don't use and decided to get some lunch first.

Within a minute or two of walking away from my car I saw something ipod shaped on the ground between 2 cars.

But as I got closer it looked more like a calculat....oooh. a blackberry!

I considered getting back in my car and driving to security when I realized the 2 missed calls on the phone (from "work") were about 5 minutes old. Most likely the owner was trying to find the phone.

So I called them back. Turns out the "work" number is on campus. He was there within a minute or so to get his phone.

that was one very happy man

*pats on the back* Kudos to you for returning it.
Many others would have run off with it.

Kudos to you! Losing things like that really suck.

I was so thankful for the woman who found a wallet I dropped once. She drove past it, saw it, and then actually turned around and picked it up. Then she looked up my name in the phonebook and tracked down my parents (my number is unlisted), who gave her my number to call me at. I tried to offer her a reward, but she refused and told me to pay it forward, so I donated her would-be reward to charity.

I found a phone on campus once and called a phone number titled "Home" on it.

The guy's mom was WAY more thankful than he was. We had this cute little phone conversation about life and she got her son to come pick it up from me. All in all I was glad I made her day at least.

That's really cool. I hope that you're repaid in kind when it's needed.

The other day I found a Tcard/U-Pass and res access card someone dropped on the ground, phoned Mississauga Transit to let them know if someone comes looking for that U-pass that I was returning it to Campus Police, and then right as I walk into the police office the person who the cards belonged to came up and asked me for them, turns out they were following me the whole time when i was on the phone

something like that happened to me once. wallet fell out of my pocket when i was on the back of my friend's motorcycle. a lady and her husband drove past it, saw it, and she pestered him to turn back so she could grab it. looked up my last name in the phonebook, called my aunt, who gave her my dad's phone number, who gave me her number. i ended up bringing her flowers and offered free babysitting services. she never took me up on that tho...

now if i could just find my wallet now i'd be happy...

My mother was wearing my grandmother's gold bracelet (sentimental reasons) and the bracelet fell off when she stepped outside with me and brother to eat at "Mexican Bell". A lady took the time to come in and circulate the restaurant, asking who the bracelet belonged to. Mum was very happy.
