This guy's new, so I guess the niceness hasn't been stomped out of him yet. We'll call him "Dan."
One job of CSMs is to do random audits/pulls/whatever of cashiers' cash drawers. As I am finishing a customer, Dan comes up and says he's 'auditing' my cash drawer. I say fine, means a couple of work-free minutes.
The drawer comes up $40 short.
Dan begins panicking and does the action code for an accounting report (a list of how much your drawer has taken in in debit, EBT, etc over the course of the day) again.
We go back and forth trying to figure out what the hell happened. Finally he calls over another CSM who says, "Do another action code."
It turns out that since I had JUST given a customer $40 cash back (right before he first pushed the action code) the system had not had time to "catch up" as it were.
Why am I really posting this here? Dan took the time to check and DID NOT immediately assume I had snatched money!
