So I'm at the wholesale club, working FDLP (the guy checking your receipts, etc.).
Older guy comes through with his wife. He was (I'm terrible at guesstimating ages) maybe late 50s and didn't age well, or in his sixties.
I check his receipt, hand it back, and he stops and says to me: (I'm paraphrasing)
"I had to back out of a space because it was 'Reserved for your customers with infants' and park somewhere else, I get cut off by this guy who was drivin' a (SUV of some kind), he was damn near as old as me. Now, what're we gonna do about that?"
He sounded utterly serious until he put on 'angry gruff voice' for that last line, and I got the impression he was just trying to see if he could fluster me up a bit. But I could somehow tell he was just having a bit of a laugh, as there was nothing really we could do about it.
So I replied: "Shake our heads and sigh?"
Which we both did at the same time. Shook our heads sadly, and heaved big, dramatic sighs.
Then he laughed, wished me a good day, and went about his business.
Old dudes rock, sometimes.
