Wierd Students....

So today I got several compliments from several students.

1: I'm an awesome friend....
2: That I'm a good looking man.
3: That I'm as smart as Einstein.

....

I can belive the first one at times. Maybe the second one.

But the third one threw me for a loop. Yeah, I get good grades, but only cause I know what the teachers are trying to pound in your head, while other students stare off, or text their friends, or don't show up, or try talking on their phone during class even.


So yeah. Part of me smiled at it. A bigger part of me is curious as to what sort of prank they're pulling together to get me.

Dear Plaid,

LEARN HOW TO TAKE COMPLIMENTS. Seriously. Do you honestly not realise how much of a skill it is to pay proper attention? It takes a fair bit of discipline (not that I'm quite as bad as you describe). And on top of that, you have to be able to understand your instructor to be able to follow. So you're doing really well if you're able to follow lectures in realtime.

After most of the time when a student gave me a compliment, it was followed by a far harsher insult along with group laughter at my idioicy for thinking someone liked me or that I was even close to normal, it's very difficult for me to take a compliment without expecting a knife to stab me in the back. I hate getting my feelings hurt, and it happens alot. Even the people who claim to never want to insult or hurt me, find ways to do it.

I belive in that most people just are smarter,stronger, and superior to me in all ways. I'm endlessly optmistiic for the future and abilities fo others. Just not me. Its wierd I know.
