... I love the people I work for.
So, the thread about the feeder co-irker that won't take no for an answer got me to thinking about how things run around the office here.
Once upon a time, we had an honor-system snack counter. For 50 cents you could get a bag of chips or a candy bar or whatever it was that we had available at the time. It went pretty well for a very long time and then one or two geniuses decided that they'd take something every morning and not bother to pay for it at all. So, the snacks went away.
Now, this actually pleased Bosslady a bit, as she had been trying to eat healthier herself and wanted to encourage the rest of us here to do the same.
To that end, starting just last month, the company has been providing fresh, organic produce to the employees every week. There have been apples, oranges, pears, grapes, bananas, nuts, figs, pomegranates, plums, etc, etc, etc. As well as a selection of greens for those few who want to take them home for cooking with. All of it is has been top notch and very, very tasty.
And this is all free to anyone who wishes to partake. Every week we get a new delivery. It's just one more benefit that we get for working here.
Now if only my coworkers could be nearly as cool as Bosslady.
