there is this chinese food delivery place that offers a $5 lunch special box. It is HUGE, with one of those big 9.25 inch clamshell containers, the back half stuffed with fried rice to the point where it's shaped like the lid from being shoved closed.. and the other half full of whatever entree (i always get the lo mein in some meat flavor depending on my mood, and it's always full of veggies and meat)
a few months ago after we discovered this fact, we ordered 3-6 lunch specials at a time at least 2-3 times a week. Either hubby and I would get two apiece, one for lunch and one to save for dinner, or we would order for ourselves, and my grandma, and the other two women working in the office with my grandma, and/or occasionally my little brother.
We got to the point where the lady answering the phone (who turned out to be the owner of the establishment) would read me off my address, my phone number, and upon our order, give us something for free every single time. Usually from one of the coupons (order $15 worth of stuff, get this free.. order $30 worth of stuff, get that free) even though those coupons all state carry-out only.
Also, even though our delivery time estimate was always 30-45 minutes, we would receive our food in 15-20 minutes. We always tip well, and usually have the same driver deliver. He forgot our 2-liter soda once and when he returned to give us a fresh one, he gave us two instead, boss's orders..
when we moved here recently, I called in and she read off my old address, and I was like "no I moved." and she was like "you MOVE?! Where you move to!?" literally yelling. I told her my address, and she was like "ohhh.. you move closer to me! Okay! Gimme your order!" we got two free sodas and a free box of 10 donuts for that.
I love this place, and I refer EVERYONE to it. Love.
