  • Sexual Harassment Taken Seriously

On a thread yesterday, I stated that a client I just met asked me out, wondering if it was creepy (decided it wasn't. Just odd and unprofessional).

Bossman and Sup wanted to talk to me as soon as I walked in. They wanted to know if I had felt threatened, or if the client had done anything, since everyone else in the office had been gone since 5, and I didn't leave until 5:45. Then at the morning meeting, Bossman told everyone that if any clients made us feel uncomfortable or made a pass, to make it known. Also that no clients should be trying to date any of us anyway (except for Bossman, the whole office is female).

We've all seen on this site and all around how rarely sexual harassment is taken seriously and dealt with. Often employees don't even feel they can tell a manager, because the managers are no better or just don't care. I was sexually harassed by a manager at a different job a few years ago, and nothing changed until I yelled at him in front of customers, and then he just left me alone so I wouldn't tear him a third butthole.

I told Bossman and Sup how much I appreciate that they take this seriously and have everyone's back, even though in this case, it wasn't necessary.
