Ok..I know the title may confuse a couple of people, because they are not known for 'outstanding service'. One actually is listed here BECAUSE it was a pain. Let me explain.
I got a PSP for an Early Birthday/Christmas gift (a gift like that..yeah I will consider it my birthday gift even if a month early :P). Needed to connect it to my wireless, but I forgot my WEP key.
Let me tell you..Time Warner made me jump through flaming hoops to retrieve it. I got bounced around so much that Rip Van Winkle could probably have gotten his COMPLETE nap out. So..why the praise? Because they made me jump through the flaming hoops. At least I know that some random person off the street isn't going to be able to get that key or any other identity information. If they did, wouldn't make much of a difference, because they would have to know so much already that the additional information would not help. At all.
So .. Thank you Time Warner, for your absolutely insane requirements to recover any information at all. I had to know my last 4, telephone number that was associated with the account, the answer to a password question, my mothers maiden name, and various other information before they would release ANYTHING.
Now on to Gamestop. Where the PSP was purchased, with NO warranty. However, it wasn't working right..and when I took it in, despite having NO warranty (it was a refurb..but the person who got it lost the warranty part of it..somehow .. please don't ask me how lol). With a few keystrokes they pulled up the info, and allowed me to exchange it for a working model. Because of that I even upgraded to a refurbed PSP 3000. Cost me 20 dollars, and they included a year warranty. Yay for Gamestop!
