  • U know my order after just 1 visit?

This may go in sightings, im not sure...may get moved
I went into a local sub shop (think $5/sub.) I ordered one of their subs, made small talk with the highschooler there, then ate and split. Come back a week later, not on the same day, or at the same time, and the kid says "meatball pepperoni right?" I was like "yes! Thank you."
Maybe it was because I was wearing the same hat and jacket, but wow. How the hell do u remember someone's order if they're not a regular and u've only seen them once? Now that was terrific service.
    I am the commander commando!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That's what happens when you differentiate yourself with smalltalk and being awesome to people. When the conversational skills of the vast majority of their other customers consist entirely of "meatball sub, italian bread, mayo." it's not it's very hard to make a good impression. :P
SC: "Are you new or something?"
Me: "Yes. Your planet is very backwards I hope you realize."

^this. I lubs me my local Way-Of-Sub. I make an extra effort to be friendly to the staff there & it pays off! They're fantastic, give me extras, freebies, neat conversation, awesome service... And they act like friends ("hey you look down, everything OK?" ) Whenever they get a new person in, soon as I get in they introduce me & tell them bout my favourites & stuff I swear the entire staff pretty much has changed in the year or 2 they've been there but they all know me by name & face & they're fantastic!

(oh & a lot of them give me staff discount every now & then "because I'm practically furniture - furniture is staff, right?" :P )
Ne auderis delere orbem rigidum meum! - Don't you dare erase my hard disk!

This is Tech Support, not Customer Service.
      What's the difference?
We're allowed to tell you "no".

The one I used to go to on the way to my old job was like that. I could walk in, say the bread I wanted, then talk about random stuff while she made the sandwhich.

Didn't hurt she was kinda cute too lol.

Same at the nearby buck of stars. Walk in, pay and chat about random stuff while they make my drink (I don't drink coffee, only get one particular frappy chino thing.)

Having something unique to be remembered about helps for me not to ask for ID, or to know who smokes what
I'm sorry reading is not a new concept it has been widely taught in our nation for at least the past 100 years. Please, learn to do it CORRECTLY before you become contagious.

I know many of my customers by name, well over 1500 or more customers. I have been working there for years so that helps. We have some very devoted customers that come in practically every day so I have many of their orders memorized and so do the cooks and most of the time we can have the order made before they even order..they LOVE it! I have a deaf couple that comes in so I am learning a little sign language so I can communicate better with them..I can tell that they just love that little extra effort.

even though I frequent several different local fabric stores in my area. (We have 7 fabric stores in my area and only 2 are chains.) I guess because I'm friendly and polite, and also bring cookies for christmas that they always remember me. I never ask for any special treatment, but everyone knows my name and they even ask about my kids and what projects I'm working in.

I used to have a Subway like this. I'd go in, be friendly, patient during rushes, and just polite. I always got a small discount without asking for it. Sadly both managers left and I'm not fond of the new ones. Luckily I have another cool Subway that stays open later. (Bonus because I work full time nights now). The staff there are just as cool sans the discount.
