Yeah, I'm not ashamed to use real names of businesses in this section.
I stopped at a steakhouse type joint before work. The person seating me recognized me because she had waited on me before. I'm sure the day she waited my table was the greatest day in her life, but for me it was a Tuesday. It took a little time to remember her. I had even posted a comment on their website about her. So i casuall ask her
Me: You no longer do tables?
Her: No, I still do. It's in the bar area. Would you like to sit at my section?
Me: Sure!
So I order my food and all is pleasant. Until I get the bill.
Me: I think there's a mistake here. You forgot to charge me for the drink.
Her: No I didn't. You eat here often enough that I gave you your drink for free. (I'm tempted to bust out into Billy Joel here)
Awesome! Ironically, I ended up paying more for my meal than I would have if my drink was charged.
