Tonight I simply did NOT feel up to cooking, and the thought of having yet another greasy burger from the college cafeteria did not titillate me, so on a whim I decided to walk to the little pizza/sub/deli shop on the corner that everybody's been raving about, hoping I'd find something of interest to bring back to the dorm.
They were BUSY, and took my order ( I had originally wanted lasagne, but they didn't have any tonight, bummer) and I sat down with a newspaper to wait. And I waited. And waited. After about 30 mins I asked if my order would be ready soon. Horrified look came across the guy's face and he apologized repeatedly that he somehow had forgotten to submit my order. No problem - I told him not to worry, I wasn't in a rush.
They quickly made my order (spaghetti bolognese YUM!) and I discovered they had "upsized me" for free to a family size spaghetti and added hummus and pita bread at no charge, apologizing profusely.
I get home to eat, and not only is the hummus pretty much the best I've ever tasted, but they had topped the spaghetti with mozza and broiled it until bubbly, it is without a doubt one of the best meals I've had in months!!! I also have enough left over for lunch/dinner tomorrow! Despite the wait, the service with upsizing me for free, and giving me the pita/hummus, they have guaranteed I'll be back!! Little wonder so many of the folks here in the dorm go there for a quick meal! They have a very good reputation, and deserve it.
