This morning, I went for a meeting with one of the learning co-ordinators at the school that we'll be sending our girls to. We were discussing speech support, because Miss Jazzy has some pronounciation issues, and the lovely co-ordinator told me how to access the free support AND told me to contact her for a work-around if the waiting lists are too long. The school also offers speech tuition before school with trained assistants, just for the extra little bit of help!
The icing on the cake? When I made sure that it was marked on her paperwork that Miss Jazzy is at-risk of developing my joint conditions, the co-ordinator actually knew what I was talking about! She told me that they have a current student with the worse version, told me about how they are accomodating her needs and how they provide tailored academic support for different needs. I'm so excited about this school!
(I'm also no longer surprised by how hard it is to get a place!)
