Ok, it's November, but we're already getting told to sell Christmas gift cards, I try to keep it casual ('Did you know they've released a new wallet for the Christmas giftcards this year?' and things like that) but when I was pouring drinks for this family, the mother spoke up.
AC: About your gift cards, how much can you put on them?
Me: As much as you like, I believe anything from £5 to £250, and it's 18 months without use before the balance is charged £1 per extra month you don't use it.
AC: I'm thinking of getting one for my daughter, but I'll come back another time.
Me: I can do them all in one transaction for you.
AC: Really, I'll have a £50 one then.
My boss told me to aim for £50 in giftcards for the shift, and I got it in one fell swoop! She even was willing to wait for my boss to come down with the vouchers we give to anyone who spends £30 in giftcards, since for reasons that are beyond me, they're being stored upstairs.
