I work in a pharmacy. We have a lot of customers with incredibly specific needs.
One of our customers can't eat like the average person because of her stomach. She is always in a lot of pain. But always nice.
We'll call her V.
V is one of the sweetest ladies I have ever met.
Recently V became an Avon Lady. And she came into the pharmacy and dropped off books for me and my coworker C, who interact with her more than anyone else.
Naturally we both looked through them as a favor to V, though we don't have too much spending money. But I made sure to buy something, and C couldn't afford what she wanted, so she told V that she wasn't up to buying anything this time.
But V, being as sweet as she was, ordered the ring C was initially interested in anyway and gave it to her for free. C was completely floored by it, because we've only done for V what we've done for our other customers.
Then when my shipment (perfume and a ring) came in, V wouldn't let me pay her the full amount, I tried to give it to her, but she absolutely refused to take it, even though I tried to sneak it in, plus tip (because she's always been such a sweet customer, I wanted to give her something extra). But she caught me and refused it.
Before this, I've wanted to move heaven and earth to make sure insurance covers her medication, even though some of it is OTC (over the counter, so available without prescription), now I wish there was something even more that I could do for her.
V is the kind of person that deserves to be immortalized for her kindness and wonderful attitude towards the world, despite the hand life has dealt her.
