  • Ooops! We both made mistakes.

Worked the register in the Garden Dept today.

Two women came in and ended up with 4 cart loads of plants and bark and other random bits.

They knew they had a large order and once they had their carts lined up, let not one, but 4 other customers in front of them with small orders.

Got through the first 3 carts, but I got distracted by a question from another customer asking a bunch of different questions.

Before completing the transaction I checked the screen and notice, that yup, I had double scanned one item.

Went to do a line edit, but hit the wrong shift-F button and got booted from the register.

OMG. I am soooo sorry. I have to do this all over again.

Great Customer & Friend: "Everything?? ahahahahah! No cookie for YOU!"

A few people had lined up during this time, and again, these two women smiled, stepped back, and let me quickly ring up the people waiting.

    Repeat the process.

Get to the total key, the woman digs around in her purse...I wish I had a picture of her face...she shuffles in her purse a bit more. Looks up at me, then down at her purse...

GC: I left my wallet at home...

Me: No worries. I'll save the transaction as an estimate. When you get back all I have to do is enter your phone number, you pay, and then all of this stuff (I wave my hand over the carts) will be yours!

    GC: Yay!
    Me: Yay!

Random Lady Customer in the line: Wow! That's a lot of stuff! I have a coupon that requires a $250.00 purchase to get the discount and it expires tomorrow. I don't need it. Do you want it?

    And there was much rejoicing.

Thank you random awsome lady. Thank you Great Customer and Friend. Thank you everyone who was lined up and no one complained about the wait. Ya'll made my day.

Isn't it wonderful when you get some human beings turn up in your line?

You have accidentally died & gone to heaven, there's no other possible explanation for having such a good group of customers all together at once!
This was one of those times where my mouth says "have a nice day" but my brain says "go step on a Lego". - RegisterAce

Sunny day in the Northwest. Temps over 60 degrees F.

Pretty much as close to heaven as one can get without actually dying.
