  • Great Waiter at Cracker Barrel

A week ago, we decided to go to Cracker Barrel after my youngest's appointment. It was busy, but not what I'd call packed. We knew what we were getting into when we went in and were quite prepared to wait for our food.

Sure enough it was a bit hectic, so it took a bit for our food to be ready. Only once did the hubby ask ME where our food was and I said, "It's a bit busy, hon. We knew that it would be, remember?" Well, apparently, the waiter must have overheard, for he came by to let us know our food was going to be a few minutes longer and that desert was on him, because we were so patient. (I got the feeling that other tables were being bitches, but I hadn't witnessed any offhand.)

Check comes, and sure enough, desert was free and he charged us for water instead of soda or tea! Needless to say, we left him a tip that more than covered the costs.

See, being patient does have its own rewards!
If I make no sense, I apologize. I'm constantly interrupted by an actual toddler.

I love being rewarded for being patient or being a good sport about waiting.

Had a guy at Disneyland give us fast passes to skip most of an hour plus wait because I joked about it only being half as long a wait as it had been the week before.
