I was in Smith's a few days ago, picking up munchables for our weekly gaming group. While there, I looked around to see if they happened to have any child safety cabinet locks. (My cats love opening the cabinets and going inside them. Mostly I don't mind, but there are a few cabinets they don't need to get into for safety reasons.) I looked around, but didn't see any. I spotted an employee (I think he was some sort of manager) and asked about them. He told me they'd either be on the aisle I was currently on, or in their small hardware section, then told me he would check in hardware and come right back. Well, more than I expected. I looked over the aisle I was on again, in case I'd missed them, and a couple minutes later the man came back to tell me they weren't in hardware. Oh well, store doesn't have any. I thanked him for looking, and he gave me a chocolate orange along with a store coupon to get it free. I'm fully aware that he didn't have to do that. Just goes to show, being polite and considerate will get you good things.

And just like taurine's bus driver story, the good feeling of treating people nicely and being treated so in return stays with you and restores a little of your faith in humanity.
(Also, we have a cat with THUMBS. I might look into the cabinet locks; she's getting a little chubby helping herself to food.

As for cats with thumbs...No trees were killed in the posting of this message.
However, a large number of electrons were terribly inconvenienced.
