  • I think the straw has broken the camel's back

I'm now officially looking for a new job. It seems now that my company is itching to have me handle any and all things customer service, billing, tech support, for ANYTHING web related., online related, etc. I work for a HUGE company with a lot of web offerings and for one person to support hundreds of thousands of people just as one aspect of their job is getting ridonkulous...of course they're not going to offer me any more money they just keep dumping more and more on my plate saying oh Ilovemygeek can do it np! They're being passive aggressive about it to by telling the front desk to transfer all calls to me without telling me they're adding stuff on my plate directly. Screw it, I'm done. I'm just smiling to myself b/c I know how screwed they'll be when I'm gone, they'll have to hire at least 3 people to carry the load.

Or, you could ask to get a couple people to help you, then you can get management experience and create a new web department and get a raise.

LOL, I wish! I support 29,000 people right now and that is just paid accounts. They're so cheap here the only way to get a promotion is to give notice and hope they give you a counter offer. With my 2 hour commute its just not worth it anymore.

I feel for you as closely as I can. AAFH2 is a stupid that is hard to come by. After 5 months now, she still has some serious issues on what problem to send to whom.

I guess she figured that since she has to run all phone related work orders to me before sending them to the network admin, that it would be okay just to send EVERYTHING to me.

Our web site screwed? Why send the work order to the web master?

Problems with a database? No need to bug the database admin!

Proprietary sofware not working correctly? Why send it to the person responsible for it? Jenni's here! OR.... we could shake things up a bit and send it to the web master. You get to it from the website......

Yeah sometimes being Webmaster sucks! Actually 99% of the time. Now the powers that be want me to figure out how to get our product to work with Vista. Did I mention that we have no Vista here, so I am expected to magic tech support without the benefit of actually using software. No matter that I"m Mac and PC girl, now I too can support Vista. I have an interview on Wed so hopefully this madness will end soon.
