I've been a lurker here for a while and this is my first time posting. I get the normal, run of the mill SCs around here, mostly ones that know more than me but need my help. Also the ones that refuse to read any sort of documentation before calling the helpdesk.
/sigh
Anywho this occurance happened today with one of our vendor support guys supporting our email filters. I want to upgrade the box but I need access to the downloads. So I call up the company to gain access, they say I just need to log into their site and presto! Downloadable content galore.
Here are the email strings that happened before they finally submitted and read the email.

I had called and requested this account creation while I was talking to the support rep. Unfortunately since I did not fill out the web form myself I do not know what my user name is. Is there a way to acquire this?

Thanks for the quick response, I'm sure the password works as in intended.
However, I am still at odds over what to enter in as my user name. Since I didn't fill out the form myself I'm not sure what was entered into that field. I tried quite a few variations of (me) and none of them worked. I assume since the name is so common.
-----------Them to me-------------
I sent another email with your account information in it. Please let me know if this information gets you logged on.
Thanks so much.
SC
------------------End--------------
It finally did work, but why don't people read before acting anymore? I'm seeing it on both sides of the field (so to speak)
