It begins "Hi, Draggar, I know you're on vacation but I was wondering if you could help me".

I guess they don't understand the point of me being in vacation is not to work for work?

I've gotten that a few times. More often on sick days than vacation, though. If I'm sick enough to call in, I'm sick enough that I'm not coming in, period.

Although the grocery store did that to me on several occasions. I took the week off, starting w/ Monday as my first day off. On Tuesday morning, at 7:00 AM my manager called and asked me to fill in for someone who had quit. It seemed reasonable, to her, because it was only three 8 hour shifts - Tues, Wed, & Thur which left me the whole rest of my vacation to relax. I just and said Nope, sorry. Call me next week and we'll see.
