    My team lead just sent me this email chain:

    (From lead):
    (User), please give me the name of the computer you are having the (program) issue with.

    (From the user)
    Its the dell laptop



    (Normally when we ask someone for the name (or asset tag) they give us the company asset tag# on the computer so we can get the specs on it and find it on the network).

    I wish my company would use asset tags for the computer network names. Instead of that, we get "bsmithdt" or "P77VMT03"

    Getting THAT information from an end user, when it's not labeled on the computer in any way is almost impossible.
