You should tell my mother about making notes about simple things. The trouble is, she insists on doing it herself *and* making notes as we go along. And she still gets it wrong, both when making the notes and subsequently.

And she cannot generalise even slightly - we have to have "open the file in <program>" every time, when <program> is the entire subject of that particular notebook.

Needless to say, I've started charging for her tuition.
