  • had a new one yesterday....

had a user who needed a password reset that i have no access to, told him to email the admin of the app, gave him the email address, aaaaaaaaaand...... he typed it into the web browsers address bar. 3 times!! and when i tried to correct him by saying that it was an email address not a web address the response was "I know". i finaly had to tell him he couldnt use an email address in his web browser. then the lights came on and he understood. i really worry sometimes. i really do. the kicker in this was HE WAS A PROGRAMER!!!

            Internet

Once had a programmer tell me there was no way I was using the internet in the early 1980's because the WWW was not that old.

although.... if he were to type in "mailto:" followed by the e-mail address in a web browser's address bar (firefox at least), it will load the mail program.

He was probably one of those guys from the .COM boom period that got jobs when they didn't have actual technical skills. Somehow, he probably managed to hide under the radar.
