I provide PC, network, etc, support for a Org. on a volunteer basis. we have several wire closets that as one of the support people, I need to access to check on issues, etc. I finally was able to get the appropriate keys(which were appropriately sighed out) to access said areas. The way the building was keyed one of these area is only on the master key. Therefore they gave me a master.
Somehow another person in a position of power found out that I had been issued a Master, though they didn't have the final say over keys. They didn't like this and decided I don't need to access the network equipment. Their idea, instead of officially giving me keys(and therefore me begin liable for them) just take the keys from the key safe when you need access (assuming they are their) and also violating key control polices for improperly taking keys.

So I will not support it. Unless the problem is physically with the one PC that my former key could let me access, which is almost never used.
