  • A public service announcement...

    PLEASE DO NOT HAVE TICKETS CREATED AND THEN IMMEDIATELY GO ON VACATION.

    Seriously, I'm sick of people logging tickets then going right away on vacation. From now on, I'll send 3 emails and if I don't get a response, I'll close the damn ticket.

    If you are going to log a ticket, make sure you are available (at least to make a reasonable appointment to meet up with me).

    You're nicer than I am. I tend to change people's passwords so I can access their PCs if needed when they pull that. If I'm particularly irritatated, I won't leave a note about it, so they think they forgot their password.

      I've been tempted to do that... but I see getting in trouble for it...

      We actually have a set policy for that. We have to send two emails in a week, no response gets a closed ticket.

          Thats why I had them add the status "Waiting for user response"



          It also sends them an email every day asking them to check the ticket and respond.

            Too bad I don't have access to that but many of my users have laptops which they bring home with them.
