    Let me make this clearer, dear customer

    Microsoft <-------------------------------> Us
    Them <-------------------------------> Us

    Note how we are not them. We do not support their products. I don't care how damn mad you get, we are still not going to support their products. Note how they are the ones that make money off their products. If you don't like their tech support, that is not our problem.

      This, dear friends, is why there are so many forums where Tech Support people get together and brain storm. All for free, and usually you can find a solution to your issue by posting or browsing past discussions. Just make sure to have good backups.

        About 70% of the PCs I get support calls on are Dells and HPs. Why? Because nobody can understand what they are saying.

          Try being in Mac tech support and getting a call on an HP! I had a beastly woman yell at me for 25 minutes (I am in the upper tiers of tech support so I have to listen to this crap) because we didn't support our competitors products. Before I could rephrase this proposition to make the woman see what a complete knob she was being, she advised me politely (insert sarcastic tone here) that she would no longer be buying these products and hung up.

          No closure for me
          At least Adam and Steve don't have to worry about leaving the toilet seat up
