I'm looking for freeware to capture mini DV through a Firewire IEEE 1394 port. I have the camcorder all hooked up to the PC, and I found a legacy driver for the Firewire hardware, but I don't have any way (that I know of) to download the video to my PC.

I believe post #4 in this thread may at least offer a visual solution.
