recommended anti-virus scanning software?

I've been using Clamwin for years and it appears that it's not going to be functional anymore, can anyone recommend a replacement?

How is it not going to continue to work? I can't find anything online in 3 seconds of searching.

I don't currently have a 3rd-party a/v installed, relying instead on a combination of Windows' built-in thing, VirusTotal, and, y'know, not downloading random crap from untrustworthy sources. VirusTotal is nice because you can scan files on the server before downloading them, so you can find out if it's even worth your time and bandwidth to get the file.

It might be worth looking through AlternativeTo.net's list, but I honestly haven't been tracking a/v software for some time. Personally, I'd just ask your preferred search engine something like "best free antivirus".

(I've never actually used any flavor of Clam on Windows. Clam on Linux, yes, but that was a while ago. )

ClamWin hasn't been able to update for the last couple of weeks, and it looks like they're not supporting it anymore.
