Video editing help?

I shot some video some time ago, and thanks to a friend who's very knowledgeable in such matters, I now have it on DVD, ready to edit.

The thing is, the video is in .avi, and my video editing program doesn't work with that format. What's the best and most reliable way to convert it into .vob?

You could try a free program called DVD Flick, I've had some success with it.

Otherwise, I use CyberLink's PowerDirector 8, which does well.

I use Pinnacle's Studio 10 (I think the most recent reslease is Studio 14). It allows me to edit in just about any video format, including AVI and then create a DVD out of it, menus, graphics, text, and all.
