Antivirus for Work suggestions?

So our office (10 - 15 computers and a server) currently has a version of Norton on it that everyone here hates. It either doesn't think something is infected or it thinks something it's infected when it's not . So we're thinking about a change and I was hoping for suggestions. I have the Free AVG at home but didn't know if people liked the pay version.

So...are there any antivirus programs people would suggest; or at least any that I shouldn't touch with a 10 foot pole?

Well, no matter what you get, You're gonna have to pay. Even the free ones get their money from business accounts And I don't recommend screwing them over if your company can afford to pay.

That said, usually the difference between individual licenses and business licenses is the number of machines you can use it on. That said, a lot of the recommendations for home use can also apply to business use.

Oh no, I'm more than happy to pay for whatever the business gets...I just don't know if the AVG is the exact same from the personal use copy to the business one.

So have you used the Business version? Based on the free home version I was going to suggest this as the one for the company to pay for but I know that sometimes features and ease of use is different on free vs. pay and I don't want to suggest something that is going to cause problems.

Ive used Avast for the longest time. Its just free and has never given me a problem. Theres probably a business version of it.

In my travels, I've seen Norton, McAfee, AVG, TrendMicro....
What's the cost, what's the benefit, does it play nicely with other apps.....How much RAM on a PC does it use, can you automatically do scans, can you do network wide push/updates..

That's more important. The overall BIG handling, not the user level stuff.

I haven't had any experience with the enterprise versions, but I'm completely sold on the free and home versions of Avira. Small footprint, low disk space (compared to NAV or McAfee), daily updates, and many free utilities they've written over the years that are rather clever, tech-wise (here).

Looking at their site, it seems they even allow for a 30-day trial license with no commitment. Cool.

Supposedly Microsoft Security Essentials is also no-cost and not entirely full of suck.

At home I use AVG and my wife uses Avast.

I'll note that I switched both my and my wife's computers over to MSE a few months ago, after reading a couple of good reviews about it. So far, my testing has revealed no malware on either machine. My own, I'm not really surprised with, but her's tends to get infected with something (I blame Facebook) every few months...

I haven't tried 9, but version 8 was the reason why I dumped AVG originally. It was great up until then.
