  • Deleted document stuck in print queue

I have tried deleting and reinstalling the printer.
    I have restarted my computer.

I have gone to the Start > Settings >Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Services and stopped the Print Spooler from there.
Then I have gone to c:/windows/system32/spool/printers but there is nothing in the printers folder.
I have set it to show contents of system folders.

    Any other suggestions?

    It's a wireless printer.
My computer runs on Windows XP.

As dalesys said, printers have their own storage, and communication between computer and printer is 2 way. The print system on your computer sends the print job to the printer, which stores it in it's own memory until it prints.

With some printers, power cycling doesn't work. Sometimes, you have to completely unplug the printer to clear its memory.

Best bet, is to shut down, unplug all cables to the printer, turn the computer back on, then the printer.

...then again, I once plugged in a printer I hadn't used in years, and a document I forgot completely about (school paper or similar) printed out the minute I plugged it in. Never know. :-)

Check the printer control panel to see if it has a feature to delete pending jobs.
