So here's what I'm looking at getting from newegg, pretty much just want a yay or nay. This machine will be gaming and video editing.

Now if people have recommendations of items that may be cheaper but same quality I'm definitely interested.

    1) Vague yea. Slightly high DOA/failure rate.

    2) Maybe yea. Notable DOA/failure rate. I prefer Rosewill, personally.

    3) Solid yea.

    4) Solid yea.

    5) I hate Radeon, so my vote is utterly biased to auto-nay. I always go GeForce and never have issues. My boyfriend most recently ended up having to swap to GeForce, himself after his Radeon refused to behave.

    6) Solid yea. I've got a Cooler Master myself.

It's worth noting that I'm not particularly experienced at putting together a high end machine, but I have been building my own systems for over a decade, which comes out to only three machines, so I must be doing something right.

for the graphics card is there a specific geforce one? there's just so many different graphic cards. And even if I have a model there's still 10 different manufacturers of the same card.

I haven't actually seen a lot of difference in the different people building the cards with the GeForce chips. Mostly it has to do with size, configuration and cooling. It's worth noting that I tend to end up with mid-range to trailing edge cards, so I tend to end up having to upgrade as new games come out that the old cards can't handle.

In 2005 I had a Chaintech. In 2007 I bought a stronger Chaintech when that one fell off the trailing edge. In 2009 (my last system build) I ended up picking up a BFG. It fell off the trailing edge this year (Diablo 3), and was replaced with an MSI.

In all that time, I've had a few problems when a driver has introduced a problem, but those have always been minor and fixed quickly.

          1. The LG DVD burner is OK. I have 2 currently, one may have a problem with burning, the other is fine. I have a Plextor in my main build, and it's been great. I do have a Sony in another with no problems.
          2. Corsair power supply - I've got the HX750, going on its third system build with no problems.
          3. Asus makes good mobos - I got the M5A97EVO for my main AMD build.
          4. Never used Corsair memory, so I don't have any yes/no recommendations. I've primarily used Kingston, but I've currently went with Mushkin and G.Skill memory.
          5. Looks like a good graphics card - I haven't had any problems with either AMD or Nvidia as far as graphics. I do like my EVGA GeForce 560Ti, and support for PhysX doesn't hurt either. The previous card I was using was an MSI Hawk HD5770, still going strong in my kid's computer.
          6. Great cooler from the reviews I've read - I have a Hyper 121+ in a build that's been pretty good, got a single core AMD up from 2.2 to a stable 2.5 GHz overclock while still running ~ 45 degrees C.

Newegg specifically reccomended the cooler to go with the processor, some other people have said be careful it's not too big for the case.
I'll take some measurements before I order.

The HX750 is modular and it's only a little more so I'll probably go with it.
